Easy Care Instructions
- Wash mats with damp washcloth and mild detergent cleaning solution. A toothbrush can be used for detailed cleaning.
- To make cleaning solution dilute 1 tbsp mild detergant (Dr. Bronners Peppermint is my favorite) in 20oz water.
- Dry mats in a shaded ventilated place
Avoid:
- Exposing suede to direct sunlight (will fade color)
- Using harsh chemical detergents such as Dawn or industrial grade disinfectants
- Detergents that contain lemon essential oil (lemon essential oil will degrade the suede over time)
DIY Mat Cleaner Recipe
- 1 tbsp Dr. Bronners lavender soap
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 20 drops lavender essential oil
- 20 drops tea tree essential oil
- 20 drops peppermint essential oil
- 1 pint of water
- 1 pint glass container
- 6oz plastic spray bottle with mist setting and lock
Directions:
Mix items together in 1 pint glass container and store at room temperature. Add to 6 oz spray bottle when needed. Use spray bottle to disinfect mat by spraying the mat and wiping it down with a cloth or paper towel. Let air dry.

These mats came about...
in a group yoga class. I was reclaiming my body's strength and mobility. Each yoga class was a risky test to see what I could and could not do. I had worked to regain my mobility for years, and it was time to test the boundaries of what was possible.
I could feel my body tense up as I prepared to move into risky strength and balancing asanas. The muscles around my hips gripped as old protective patterns emerged. Primal fear was coursing through my body. On the outside...a bright smile....no one knew what I was experiencing.
The image of my muse appeared and told me, "Just relax, you've got this." Then, my instructor (the amazing Lisa Kent) told us to "bring ease and flow to all the tight places." My mind felt at ease and my body relaxed. I flowed through that risky asana like a graceful little sugar glider!
Afterward, I wanted my Muse and a movement mantra on my yoga mat, so I made some designs and used various custom print companies to create the mats. But I wasn't thrilled with the quality and the lack of sustainability. I wanted my art to be printed on a Cadillac yoga mat that was ecofriendly, biodegradable, and made from recycled materials (aka made on a cloud). And other people wanted them too.
So I went to China (virtually) and found a manufacturing/ trade company that could mass-produce my art on a yoga mat whose quality I can stand behind, on top, and to the side of.
That's how these mats came about. I use mine every day. I hope you love them as much as I do.

No, your mat is made to get wet. The inks will not fade unless you expose it to direct sunlight or treat it with bleach or detergants containing lemon oil.
What's that smell?
Newly-made natural rubber outgasses like a new car. I have taken extra measures to outgas the mats, but your mat may still have a slight odor. This disappears completely with time. To outgas your mat, roll it out and place it face (suede side) down in a cool well ventilated place. Or, to outgas it quickly, leave it rolled up, rubber side out, in your car for 1 week. (Just be ready for the smell to get trapped in the car if the windows are rolled up.
