My Constellation

Constellation by Tricia Dietrich

Where I”m From

by Tricia Dietrich

I’m from the Midwest
Smack dab in the middle of the US
Born through the love of 2 highschool sweethearts
Who lived across the street from each other
and decided to make a life together
And make me,
Happily.

I am from Grandma’s cookies
And Grandpa’s farm
Bottle feeding calves
In a land and life
Full of magic, hard work, and sweat

I am from a mother
With interior designer's eyes
A beautiful woman
Kind, witty, and wise
Always there to lend me a hand or hug
And lots of Mother's love.

I am from the hard work
Of a good man building
Homes for his wife and daughter
I'm grateful for the love and support
I received from my father.

I am from grit and blue-collar caucasian cuss words
“Assholes” and “Bastards”
And “ta hell with its”
And farts and fights and the glue
That comes from a town filled with large families
and humble beginnings.

I am from dirt and sand
And the powdered bones of my ancestors who settled this land
And the generations of stories that live
Between the bonds
Of the creations it gives.

I am from a place that grounds
 the free spirits who leave
And then flutter back in

To share their light
Reconnect to their roots
And shed some skin.

My Orientation

Orientation
by Tricia Dietrich

The majority of my life has been by a river or a creek
on the Midwestern planes
Homelands of the native tribes Missouri, Illini, and Osage

Where ancient symbols of the Moniteau
are still seen
in caves and cliffs
 of Big Muddy Ravines

Where free and enslaved people convened
and created Underground Railroad streams
that did their best
to liberate those trapped
in the "Gateway to the West."

I live in the lands where those enslaved
 were given white men's names
then buried in unmarked graves.

Where the path of Louis and Clarke is marked
meandering through these lands
My husband and I create a life
with our stories and our hands.

Straddling a paradox where wild
meets McModern development
And the healing powers of nature
are met with flying hammers
and the American Dream.

We clear our path through the forest
and pay homage to the animals and spirits of the land
who live in trees, sky, and streams.

And in the occasional peacock...
who wanders into our life
through the wood
in the coldest part of a COVID Winter and says
"Feed me popcorn and treat me good."

When she is full
Moon Mother shines on our bed
Quite literally, on Shawn's head.
And sings songs to us while we dream

My orientation makes me see,
that everything lives inside me
and is woven into the story I call
my reality.

Artist Statement

"I create art because I have to be a healthy, whole person. It's as essential to my life as having regular bowel movements. When I am not expressing myself or being creative I feel stopped up, bloated, and a little bitchy.."   ~Tricia Dietrich

My vision is to use intention to create beauty that illuminates the soul's path.

My quest is to understand the stories that are living through me and create a life that is one of service and authenticity. I use a variety of tools to pave the road of my journey. Paintbrushes, paint, glitter, and outlandish costumes are my favorites.

Each of my paintings begins with an energetic pull. This pull is often something I cannot ignore, yet may not fully understand. It usually coincides with a series of events happening in my life that generate inquiry or just feel like fun.

Form emerges. In this process, I feel free to do and be whomever I choose. In deepening the process, the energetic pull that brought me to the canvas begins to take form and inform me. I trust and paint until the form reaches completion. In this process, wisdom is gained. In this, I reclaim and acquaint myself with parts of me that may have been lost.

THE ACT OF MINDFULLY CREATING WITH INTENTION

Intentional Creativity

THE ACT OF MINDFULLY CREATING WITH INTENTION
Home painting class at Rocky Port Art Gallery, Rocheport MO
WE LIVE OUR LIVES THROUGH OUR STORIES
The stories of our past shape how we show up in our present lives and influence our future. Intentional Creativity® lovingly allows us to put color, shape, and form to these stories so that we can transform and heal them in a way that is fun and empowering. Intentional Creativity® balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain, releases blocked energy in the body, connects us with our intuition, and gives us access to our healing information and insights. Oftentimes, this healing happens while one is in their creative flow, having fun, and enjoying the experience.

Intentional Creativity® can be used in combination with other healing methods to add depth and dimension to any form of therapy. It can be used to dive deeper into the inquiries that arise in other healing processes and help one arrive at a new perspective in a revolutionary way.

Intentional Creativity® practitioners provide a variety of services ranging from online courses, luxury group retreats, weekend workshops, mini-workshops, and one on one coaching packages tailored to suit the needs of the individual. Practitioners are highly trained women who have done their work and are camped out on the leading edges of the universe with some chocolate, a cup of tea, and gifts to share with their beloveds.

Intentional Creativity® is a global movement. Practitioners around the world gather for annual events, participate in the Intentional Creativity Guild, and keep connected through monthly calls.
